PROTZ
On-demand towing and water delivery for Ghana.

BACKGROUND & CONTEXT
Towing and water delivery in Ghana run on informal networks. Customers can't find verified providers, track a job, or pay securely. Providers have no tools to manage requests or earnings.
TARGET USERS
Ghanaian drivers and households
independent towing and water-delivery operators
THE GOAL
Formalise an informal service market with verified providers, live tracking and secure payment.
MY PROCESS
- Domain research
- flows
- wireframes
- UI
- prototype
KEY DECISIONS
- Designed both sides as one system, not two apps
- Local payment first: Mobile Money, bank, card, wallet
- Trust built in — 2FA and document verification
THE SOLUTION
A two-sided marketplace. Customers request a service, browse verified providers, track status live and pay by Mobile Money, bank, card or Protz Wallet. Providers manage requests, chat and track earnings.
KEY FEATURES
- Service request & provider matching
- Live order tracking
- Multi-method payments & wallet
- Ratings & order history
- Provider earnings account
DESIGN SYSTEM & ACCESSIBILITY
Shared component library across the customer and provider apps — one pattern set for order status, payments and verification. Status shown by colour plus text label, never colour alone.
OUTCOME
A complete, prototype-ready product covering both sides of the marketplace, from onboarding to payout.
BY THE NUMBERS
90 screens across 2 role-based apps, delivered in 8 weeks
What I learned
Two-sided products live or die on the weaker side — the provider experience needed equal design time.
